Karenai Sekai to Owaru Hana

The Idea of this entry is to give the team thoughts about the product, in two parts, a technical aspect intended for other aspiring translators or people interested in that part of translation! While the second one is spoiler talk, just our general feelings and thoughts about the product.

Translator Side

This is now officially our longest English translation at 18 hours, very cool.

Alright, first things first, this game seems to be cursed, not only the usual tools didn’t quite work, the scripts are inside jsons which require additional tools in order to extract and insert the majority of things and there was multiple titles per chapter??? WHY???

And then, because of that, parsing was breaking the scripts because \ is a stop character in json and it would break the entire game... :) :) :) :)

With a combination of like 4 different tools we were able to actually figure that one out, but then the patch itself wasn’t working, that’s when I discovered the unencrypted patching thanks to Hirary which solved the last piece of the puzzle for this release.

A mess, but a fun mess.

As for the actual translation, this novel is very, VERY poetical, lines keep cutting in the middle and keep doing cool, but funky, things. I hope you can enjoy my take on them, I’ve been translating some other things and secret projects since my last release for Shinzou and I’ve (hopefully) improved a bit. I know there’s still things to improve and if you have anything concrete, please let me know in our discord!

Right after you finish the game, there’s a cool stand in menu in the gallery which took us ages to get just right, we’re very proud of it, even if it’s just a side thing that not many people will use, maybe create a cool picture with it, please?

This was a fun one, and the first time I translate 18+ content, so I would really appreciate some feedback if you have any!
