The Invisible Star
THIS POST CONTAINS SPOILERS AND IT'S INTENDED TO TALK ABOUT THEM. IF YOU HAVENT READ THE NOVEL WE ADVISE YOU TO LEAVE AND COME BACK ONCE YOU'RE DONE READING!!
The Idea of this entry is to give the team thoughts about the product, in two parts, the first one in a technical aspect intended for other aspiring translators or people interested in that side of translation! After that is spoiler talk, just the team general feelings about the product.
Translator Side
The grind never stops on my side. This project is the first one I had some help directly from the Circle that created it, which makes me very happy to be able to do this, something I honestly never imagined. A very straight forward story, but, in this product we have voice lines, which add another layer of complexity to the mix. The reason being, in previous products, if I had any issues with length of lines, I could just add another line, to make lines shorter and easier to read.
This time, that wasn't really possible most of the time, as the voice line would need to fit with all the line, so sometimes I had to get creative to translate certain things while keeping the meaning intact but maybe changing a couple of words.
Another thing here is that, as you might have realized, the title is in English! I talked with D10RAMA and explained the reasoning behind the title. They agreed and told me that they wanted to work on the UI and the logo. And they did, and it looks amazing! "Mienai Nitousei" would translate to something like "The Invisible Second Star", but we felt it wasn't very catchy, so we kind of changed it a little to keep that charm that the Japanese title has.
I would strongly recommend if possible to support them by giving them your thoughts, liking the novel on BOOTH or buying the support version for it!
Thoughts Side
From the moment I read this story, It captured me. When I was young, I really liked the stars, to the point that my first "what do I want to be when I'm older" was an astronomer. As life would have it, I slowly got other interests and now I'm here. But that sense of being in an empty field without anything around you just looking at the stars is something that I really like. Might have to do it soon...
A touching story that captivated me, and hopefully it will captivate you as well.
